Organiser Sally Warnock (contact 07770 785514 / sally.warnock2@btinternet.com)

Albert Richards was the youngest official war artist to be killed in action during WWII. His works show his incredible talent and reflect his influences from Surrealism to Art Deco. This amazing exhibition is a personal narrative, commemorating not only his life as a soldier but also showing works of those he worked alongside who inspired him, such as Stanley Spencer and George Jardine.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to visit Steve des Landes in his studio. Steve is the artist in residence, and it will be a fascinating chance to see the artistic process of developing ideas through public interaction and engagement. Steve is represented by David Messum Fine Art, London.

We are also hoping that it will be possible to show you the painting that Art Friends Merseyside has recently given a grant to the Williamson Art Gallery for reframing.

The event will begin with coffee/tea and cake at 10.30am with the talk beginning at 11.00am. This is an exclusive and private event for members of Art Friends Merseyside. The Williamson is opening especially for us.
