This year marks 250 years since the birth of the artist JMW Turner. Melissa Gustin, Curator of British Art at National Museums Liverpool, will guide us through the exhibition, Turner: Always Contemporary, which showcases their collection of his oil paintings, works on paper and prints, and discuss Turner’s ideas on topics which are so relevant to us today such as climate change, immigration and tourism!

Turner influenced many artists, among them Claude Monet, Bridget Riley, Maggi Hambling, and these and other exciting and influential modern contemporary artworks are included in the exhibition - we will use these to investigate themes of travel, landscape and artistic experimentation.

We will meet in the Foyer of the Walker Art Gallery at 10.45am

The Café will be open for the purchase of refreshments before or after our visit to the exhibition.
